The Golden Bridge Meditation

Kia Ora Beautiful People,

I’m writing to you today with a bit of a strange feeling, that impression of being here, but not really being here. To be completely honest with you, right now, I’ve got my “cul entre deux chaises”, one foot in France, and my heart still back in New Zealand.

Because of the conflicts currently shaking the Middle East, everything is blocked, and I find myself “stuck” here in France. It’s frustrating, it’s heavy, and it’s a constant reminder of that old human habit: we always seem to want what we don’t have in the moment, don’t we?

In New Zealand, I have my life, my rhythm. Not being able to teach my Face Yoga classes there or guide you through Yin sessions feels like a huge void. It’s like a part of me has been put on forced pause.

But that’s life, isn’t it? A constant sway. We dream of “elsewhere” when we are here, and we ache to go back when we are there. Yet, being here in France gives me something incredibly precious that I don’t have the rest of the year: my family. Time here has a different flavor. It’s slow, it’s intimate, and I know deep down that every minute spent with them is a gift I won’t get back later. So, instead of fighting against borders or grounded planes, I’m trying to turn this waiting game into something beautiful.

Rather than pacing the room, I’ve decided to use this “suspended” time for you, for us. I’m crafting my newsletters way in advance, refining new programs for the website… I’m diving deep into esoteric techniques, the slightly more “perché” and mystical stuff, to take you even further into the world of Face Yoga.

It’s my way of staying connected to you, no matter where my suitcase is parked. I’m building this bridge between France and New Zealand through the screen, guiding you toward that monde merveilleux of well-being that I love so much.

Maybe we’re never really just in one place. Maybe we’re always a little bit everywhere at once. And perhaps that is what true freedom actually feels like.

If you’re also feeling a bit scattered or stuck between two places or two desires, sit with me for a moment. Let’s take 12 minutes to bring the pieces back together.

In this meditation I offer the following practice : Hakini Mudra and Nadi Sodhana

The Mudra: Hakini Mudra (To Integrate)

Bring the tips of your fingers together on both hands, as if you’re holding a tiny invisible ball between your palms. Keep your palms apart.

  • Why: This Mudra stimulates both the brain’s hemispheres and balances them, This helps sync your brain and your heart. It’s perfect when you feel fragmented and it also does calm the vata dosha a bit.

The Pranayama: Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breath)

Since we’re feeling “split,” let’s balance things out.

  • Close your right nostril with your thumb, breathe in through the left.
  • Close the left, breathe out through the right.
  • Breathe in through the right, breathe out through the left.
  • Do this for a few minutes until the “noise” in your head quiets down.

The Meditation: The golden Bridge

I created this practice while sitting between my two worlds, the soft, familiar roots of my family in France and the wild, vibrant energy of my life in New Zealand. Right now, I’m using these two places as my own anchors, but I invite you to make this journey your own.

If you feel “split” or far from home, use this meditation to bridge the gap between your hometown, where your story began, and the place you live now, especially if it’s far from your original roots. Whether it’s two cities, two countries, or simply two versions of yourself, this is your space to stop choosing sides. You don’t have to be “here” or “there.” You are the golden bridge that connects them both.

Close your eyes. Feel your seat on the chair here in the present, but let your heart send a golden thread all the way to New Zealand (or wherever your “elsewhere” is).

Don’t try to choose one side. Just be the bridge. You are the connection. You are exactly where you need to be to grow right now. Your roots are deep in the soil of France, but your branches are reaching across the ocean. You are whole, right here, right now.

Merci d’être là. Thank you for being part of this journey with me, even when the path takes a detour.
